![]() They don't do this when I use the RAW software that came with my camera (RebelXT), or when I use Lightroom (which I probably won't be able to afford when they release the non-Beta version). When I open a folder with a bunch of photos in it, I can actually see as it goes through the thumbnails and lightens/changes all of the RAW images (probably only because my computer is so slow-too many photos for the poor old hard drive!)Īnything else I could try? I don't like the way the RAW images are being changed. But Bridge is still altering the RAW images somehow before I've done anything to them, regardless of turning that off. Well, no, I take that back-when I have an image open I can see the difference between having the auto adjustments selected and not. Stevekin - I had already deselected the Auto Adjustments option and it didn't seem to make a difference. (What is the difference between that and "Camera Raw Database, anyway?) Robert - yes, I have that selected, although I'm not sure what exactly that means. Next to the settings box, click the right facing arrow and uncheck 'Use Auto Adjustments'. If you do not want this to happen, open Bridge, then open a raw file in the editor. This applies auto adjustments to the thumbnails in the preview pane too. I think you will find that the 'Use Auto Adjustments' is active. Perhaps because the RAW image is unprocessed and this the JPEG version does some sort of darkening/compression function.ĭo you have sidecar XML files with each RAW file? The raw (lightened) image always looks better to me. Are there settings or prefs I can change to fix this (I looked, but maybe I'm just missing it)? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks. When I open the RAW and JPEG versions of the same image, I can see that not only has the RAW image been lightened, it also looks duller (in color). Does anyone know why Adobe Bridge is automatically lightening my RAW images? When I look at the thumbnails of all the files in any folder in Bridge, there is a noticeable difference between the RAW/JPEGs, even though they look nearly identical when viewing them with other programs.
